The phone-level picture is the interesting part, and it is what this comparison is really about. The same Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 posts a Geekbench multi-core score of 2,967 in the Motorola Edge 50 Pro, 3,216 in the vivo V40, and 3,360 in the Honor 200, a spread of more than 13 percent from one phone to the next. Single-core, UX, and daily feel
The Dimensity 7200's 3 percent single-core win and 30 percent UX sub-score advantage are the numbers behind its reputation for feeling smooth in daily use. Single-threaded speed drives app launches and interface response, and the MediaTek chip holds its own there against a newer rival, helped by a slightly higher 2.8GHz peak clock on its two performance cores. The Snapdragon answers with a three-tier core layout, one prime plus three gold plus four efficiency cores, which is why it pulls ahead once work spreads across cores.
GPU and gaming
The AnTuTu GPU sub-score gap, 45 percent, is the largest single difference between these chips, but the real-world graphics story is narrower. In 3DMark Wild Life Extreme, the vivo V40's Snapdragon posts 1,492 against roughly 1,179 for the 7200 Ultra camp, about 26 percent in an uncontrolled pairing, and in the newer Steel Nomad Light test the gap shrinks to 495 against 463, under 7 percent. Neither chip is a gaming flagship; both run demanding titles at medium settings. If gaming is the priority, the Snapdragon is the safer pick, but the Dimensity is closer than the AnTuTu sub-score suggests.
Battery is the phone's job
The clearest lesson in the phone-level data is that battery life cannot be predicted from the chip alone. 91mobiles' PCMark battery testing returned 13 hours for the vivo V40 and 9 hours 38 minutes for the Honor 200, two phones running the identical Snapdragon 7 Gen 3; the difference comes down to capacity, display, and software tuning rather than silicon. Buyers comparing mid-rangers should check the specific phone's endurance results, not just its chipset.
Where the mid-range stands in 2026
Both chips are now years behind the mid-range state of the art, but the successor data is a warning against easy upgrade math. In the same Nanoreview dataset, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 posts about 1.04 million on AnTuTu 11, roughly 1.6 percent above the 7 Gen 3, and 3,390 in Geekbench multi-core, a mid-teens gain.
