Apple WWDC 2026 Leak: Siri Reimagined as a ChatGPT-Style AI Chatbot!

Apple iOS 20 leak showing Siri as a ChatGPT style AI chatbot on iPhone display.

The tech world is counting down to Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2026), set to kick off next week. While rumors about hardware updates are circulating, the absolute biggest pre-event bombshell comes from a major leak regarding Apple Intelligence and iOS 20. According to insider reports, Apple is about to completely kill off the old Siri interface, replacing it with a full-fledged, ChatGPT-style AI chatbot.

This marks the most radical overhaul of Apple's voice assistant since its introduction on the iPhone 4S back in 2011.

The Evolution: From Voice Assistant to Dedicated AI App

According to recent supply chain leaks and Bloomberg reports, Siri will no longer just be a floating glowing ball at the bottom of your screen that answers basic questions. In iOS 20, Siri is evolving into a standalone app framework with advanced contextual awareness.

Users will reportedly be able to maintain full chat histories, look through previous prompts, and upload complex PDFs, code snippets, or images directly into the Siri interface—functioning similarly to OpenAI's ChatGPT or Anthropic's Claude.

Furthermore, Apple is expanding its dynamic interface. When activated outside the app, the entire edge of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 lineups will feature a responsive, multi-colored neon glow, signaling that the on-device Large Language Model (LLM) is processing information.

Deep System Integration and the Gemini Partnership

That sets this new Siri apart from downloading a standard third-party AI app is its deep integration into the Apple ecosystem. Powered by Apple’s localized Ajax LLM and supported by a strategic cloud partnership with Google’s Gemini, the new Siri can take actions inside your apps.

For instance, you can tell Siri to "Find the photo I took at the beach last summer, enhance the lighting, and email it to John," and the AI will execute the entire multi-step workflow without you needing to open a single app manually.

Privacy Remains the Core Selling Point

Understanding the data privacy concerns in Tier 1 markets, Apple is leaning heavily into security. The vast majority of the new Siri's cognitive tasks will be handled directly on the device using the powerful Neural Engine found in the A17 Pro, A18, and M-series chips.

For heavy tasks that require cloud computing, Apple will route data through its "Private Cloud Compute" servers, ensuring that user data is never stored, logged, or accessible even to Apple itself.

Expectations for WWDC 2026

Apple's keynote is scheduled for June 8, 2026, and the event slogan "All systems glow" almost completely confirms this massive Siri transformation. Beta versions of iOS 20 with the new AI features are expected to roll out to developers immediately after the keynote, with a public release slated for September alongside the iPhone 18 lineup.
