Smartphone processor manufacturer Qualcomm has notified clients of upcoming price increases in the double digits due to rising costs, according to a Bloomberg News report citing a letter sent to customers on Friday.

The price adjustments are scheduled to take effect for semiconductor shipments fulfilled after September 1, the report stated.

In the letter, Qualcomm informed clients that it could no longer absorb rising supplier costs and had sought alternative components from new suppliers to manage expenses, Bloomberg reported.

Qualcomm declined to comment on the report, and Reuters noted it could not independently verify the claims.

The reported price notice comes ahead of Qualcomm's scheduled third-quarter financial results presentation on July 29.
