Google’s new flagship improves camera speed, display brightness, charging and on-device AI, but a $100 price increase, reduced base RAM and limited Gemini availability make it a difficult upgrade, especially for Pixel 10 Pro XL owners and buyers in Bangladesh.
Google announced the Pixel 11 Pro XL on August 12, 2026, opened pre-orders the same day and began retail sales in supported markets on August 20. The phone starts at $1,299 in the United States for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, $100 more expensive than the equivalent Pixel 10 Pro XL. Google also sells 512GB and 1TB versions with 16GB RAM.
This is Google’s large-screen Android 17 flagship for 2026, built around the Tensor G6 processor, a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display and an updated three-camera system. It competes directly with the $1,299.99 Galaxy S26 Ultra and the $1,199 iPhone 17 Pro Max, making price-to-performance, not just camera quality, the central question.
TechCrunch reviewer Ivan Mehta used the Obsidian Pixel 11 Pro XL for nearly a week. His conclusion captures the phone’s position: it feels as though “the previous-gen phone had a big Pixel Drop update.” The cameras are quicker and Rambler is unusually practical, but the design and overall experience remain familiar. For buyers in Bangladesh, the decision is further complicated by unofficial pricing, seller-dependent warranty coverage and AI features that vary by country and language.
Design and Display: Refined Rather Than Rebuilt
The Pixel 11 Pro XL keeps Google’s familiar camera-bar design, but the rear bar now uses edge-to-edge glass. Its recycled-aluminum frame sits between Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front and back, with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. The phone is thinner and lighter than the Pixel 10 Pro XL, although at roughly 226g it remains a large, heavy device. Its four colors, Canyon, Fog, Olive and matte Obsidian, are the most immediately visible generational change.
The 6.8-inch Super Actua LTPO OLED panel has a 2,992 × 1,344 resolution and an adaptive 1–120Hz refresh rate. Google rates peak brightness at 3,600 nits under specific conditions. Tom’s Guide measured 2,877 nits, which is below the advertised peak but still excellent for outdoor visibility. Google also claims the new display coating offers more than twice the scratch resistance of the previous generation, based on internal pre-production testing.
HiLight sits around the flash within the rear camera bar. The RGB LED can show that Gemini is listening, thinking or responding, and users can assign colors to calls from selected contacts. Google says message notifications from favorite contacts will be added later, but it has not announced a release date. Ordinary texts and app-specific color assignments were not available during TechCrunch’s review.
That makes HiLight attractive but underdeveloped. A phone lying face down during a meeting could signal an important call without exposing the screen. Until Google adds messaging, app-level controls and more patterns, however, a customized ringtone or smartwatch provides broader notification coverage.
Performance, RAM and Thermals
Tensor G6 prioritizes Google’s camera and AI workloads rather than benchmark leadership. Google claims 25% faster web browsing, 15% quicker app launches and up to 3.5 times faster on-device AI processing than Tensor G5. Those figures come from Google’s testing and should not be treated as independent benchmark results.
Computerworld recorded 2,736 single-core and 7,399 multi-core in Geekbench 6, up from 2,326 and 6,413 for the Pixel 10 Pro XL. The Galaxy S26 Ultra scored 3,683 and 11,243 in the same publication’s comparison. Computerworld also measured 13,761 in 3DMark Wild Life for the Pixel, versus 31,036 for Samsung’s flagship. The implication is straightforward: Tensor G6 is faster than Tensor G5 and responsive in normal use, but the Galaxy remains much stronger for demanding games and sustained graphics workloads.
The 12GB base model should be sufficient for everyday multitasking, messaging, photography and productivity. TechCrunch did not report app-reloading or multitasking problems during its short review period. Still, reducing the 256GB model from 16GB to 12GB weakens long-term value at a higher price. Buyers who want 16GB must pay for at least the 512GB version.
Thermal evidence also needs careful wording. Separate stress tests of the smaller Pixel 11 Pro, which uses the same Tensor G6, reported aggressive GPU throttling as temperature increased. That is relevant to mobile gamers, but it is not a controlled temperature result for the Pro XL. No standardized thermal measurement appeared in the supplied TechCrunch review, so claims that the XL either “runs cool” or “overheats” would be premature.
Battery Life and Charging: Solid, Not Class-Leading
The Pixel 11 Pro XL has a 5,115mAh battery, slightly smaller than the Pixel 10 Pro XL’s 5,200mAh cell. Capacity alone does not determine endurance, and published tests produced different results because their methods differed.
In Tom’s Guide’s continuous 5G web-browsing test, the Pixel 11 Pro XL lasted 14 hours and 28 minutes, only 18 minutes longer than the Pixel 10 Pro XL. The Galaxy S26 Ultra reached 16 hours and 10 minutes, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max reached 17 hours and 54 minutes. PCMag’s different test produced 15 hours and 47 minutes for the Pixel 11 Pro XL, compared with 12 hours and 35 minutes for its predecessor. Both results support the same broad conclusion: the Pixel should last a normal day, but its advantage over the previous model depends heavily on workload.
Wired charging reaches 45W, while Pixelsnap Qi2.2 magnetic wireless charging reaches 25W. Google says a compatible 45W charger can reach roughly 75% in 30 minutes. PCMag recorded 77% after 36 minutes, while Tom’s Guide measured 54% after 30 minutes. Charger choice, battery temperature, settings and test conditions can all affect the result.
What Is in the Box?
Google includes the phone, a 1-meter USB-C-to-USB-C USB 2.0 cable and digital setup and regulatory information. Rest-of-world packages also include a SIM tool. There is no 45W power adapter, case or pair of earbuds in the box, so buyers need a compatible USB-C PD/PPS charger to use the fastest wired-charging mode.
Camera: Faster Capture Is More Important Than the 120x Number
The rear system combines a 50MP main camera, 48MP ultrawide and redesigned 48MP 5x telephoto, plus a 42MP front camera. Google says the telephoto sensor has 30% more light sensitivity than before, while the new main sensor and Tensor G6 image processor contribute to faster capture.
TechCrunch did not publish a stopwatch comparison or claim to have pixel-peeped the sensor improvement. Its finding was experiential: the camera app and shutter felt faster, while Night Sight required less time holding the phone still. Google separately claims Instant Night Sight can capture images up to 4.5 times faster, based on its internal testing. That distinction matters; the “4.5x” figure is a manufacturer claim, not TechCrunch’s measurement.
Pro Zoom now reaches 120x, up from 100x. AI enhancement begins beyond 30x, but TechCrunch found the maximum setting difficult to stabilize for subjects across the street. Lower zoom ranges produced more usable results. The 120x option is therefore best understood as emergency reach, not a replacement for optical zoom.
Camera Looks moves photo styling into the computational pipeline at capture. Original is joined by Natural, Shadows and Vanilla, plus six additional choices: Digi, Black Tie, Minimal, Editorial, Classic and Velvet. The controls are customizable, allowing settings such as ISO or Looks to remain within quick reach.
Magic Capture records video and analyzes roughly 400 frames using on-device intelligence and Gemini models, according to Google. It selects 12MP still images and may apply crop or unblur automatically. The feature is designed for children, pets and action, but TechCrunch found that it could still struggle with moving subjects. It is useful as a backup when the timing is unpredictable, not a substitute for a well-timed full-resolution photo.
AI and Software: Rambler Is the Feature Most Likely to Become a Habit
Rambler turns loosely structured speech into organized text, removing filler words such as “um” and “ah.” TechCrunch found that it handled noisy surroundings and language switching well. Mehta wrote that he had “rambled my way into writing this section without needing any edits,” a stronger real-world endorsement than a staged product demo.
The tool is relevant for quick notes, emails and messages because it reduces editing rather than merely transcribing words. It competes with dedicated dictation products such as Wispr and Willow. Its value as a reason to buy the Pixel 11 Pro XL is less certain, since TechCrunch noted that it may eventually reach other devices.
Gemini’s Proactive Suggestions are more inconsistent. During TechCrunch’s five-day test, Gemini recognized scheduling conversations and suggested availability from Google Calendar, but it did not account for every calendar and failed to retrieve an address from email when expected. Agentic food-ordering features were limited to the US, so the India-based reviewer could not test them.
Live Translate can dub supported video and audio using on-device models, but languages must be downloaded and availability varies by country, language, app and media type. Google explicitly warns that several Gemini Intelligence functions are limited to selected markets and languages. Buyers should therefore check local support instead of assuming every launch-stage demonstration will work in Bangladesh.
Android 17 ships with seven years of OS, security and Pixel Drop updates. Long support is a genuine advantage for buyers who keep phones for several years, although the value depends on repair access and battery replacement options in the buyer’s country.
The EU’s EPREL product database gives the Pixel 11 Pro XL an A durability grade and B repairability grade, according to Android Authority’s reporting. The listed battery-retention target is 80% after 1,000 charge cycles. Those ratings are useful indicators, but they do not solve the practical problem of finding authorized parts and service in an unsupported market.
Price, Availability and the Bangladesh Reality
The official US prices are $1,299 for 256GB, $1,419 for 512GB and $1,649 for 1TB. The 256GB model costs $100 more than the equivalent Pixel 10 Pro XL while dropping from 16GB to 12GB RAM. This is not simply a case of Google removing 128GB and giving buyers more storage: the Pixel 10 Pro XL already started at 256GB. For the XL model, the new generation is a direct price increase combined with a base-memory reduction.
As of August 23, 2026, major Bangladesh retailer Apple Gadgets lists the Pixel 11 Pro XL for pre-order with the price marked TBA. Local comparison sites have quoted an expected figure around Tk 159,000, but several of those pages still contain pre-launch specifications and should not be treated as confirmed retail pricing. Import costs, exchange rates and seller margins may push the final street price higher or lower.
SIM configuration depends on where the phone was sold. US units use dual eSIM with no physical SIM tray, while rest-of-world units support one nano-SIM plus one eSIM. Grameenphone and Robi both offer eSIM service in Bangladesh, so either version can be usable, but buyers who want the flexibility of a physical SIM should choose a non-US unit.
Robi and Grameenphone operate 5G in selected parts of Bangladesh, but coverage remains uneven and operators may restrict access to approved handsets or firmware profiles. The Pixel 11 Pro XL supports the relevant 4G and sub-6GHz 5G technologies on paper, yet that does not guarantee immediate 5G, VoLTE or Wi-Fi calling activation on every imported variant. Buyers should ask the operator to confirm the exact model number before purchase; 4G remains the safer baseline expectation.
Bangladesh is not listed among the countries in Google’s standard online mail-in or walk-in Pixel repair program. Google advises customers who buy a phone in another country to check the warranty supplied with that device. A Bangladeshi buyer should confirm, in writing, the seller’s replacement period, service warranty and parts policy.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is the stronger Android alternative for gaming, sustained performance, zoom flexibility and productivity. It also charges faster at up to 60W. The Pixel counters with a brighter advertised display, a cleaner Google software experience, Rambler and a lighter approach to computational photography.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max launched for $100 less and leads the cited battery test. It is the more obvious choice for buyers invested in Apple services or professional mobile video. The Pixel remains attractive to people who prioritize Android, Google’s camera processing and Gemini integration over benchmark leadership.
There is also a timing issue. Apple has not announced its next Pro iPhones, but an iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max refresh is widely expected in September 2026. Anyone considering the iPhone 17 Pro Max at full price may benefit from waiting a few weeks: a new model could change both capabilities and older-model pricing. That expectation remains unofficial until Apple confirms its event and products.

- A Google ecosystem user who plans to keep the phone for several years
Skip or wait if you are:
- Using a Pixel 10 Pro XL, because the improvements do not clearly justify another $100
- A serious mobile gamer who needs high sustained GPU performance
- Buying in Bangladesh without a clearly documented seller warranty
- Choosing primarily for Gemini features that may be unavailable in your region or language
- Comparing it with the iPhone 17 Pro Max at full price, since Apple’s next Pro refresh is expected, but not confirmed, for September 2026

The Pixel 11 Pro XL is a polished flagship with faster photography, an excellent display and one AI tool, Rambler, that could become part of a daily workflow. It is also an iterative product that costs more, ships with less base RAM and cannot match its closest rivals in raw performance or battery endurance. For older-Pixel owners it is compelling; for Pixel 10 Pro XL owners it is difficult to recommend.
The Pixel 11 Pro XL does not reinvent the wheel, it makes the wheel spin noticeably faster. Whether that is worth an extra $100 depends on your current phone, your region and your wallet.
