Huawei’s official product page confirms several key figures. The Pura X View measures 6.68mm in thickness and weighs 201g while carrying a 7,000mAh battery. It also lists a 2,232 × 1,320-pixel display, up to 6,500 nits of peak brightness, a 96.1% screen-to-body ratio and 1.05mm bezels on all four sides. Huawei identifies the brightness and several design measurements as laboratory figures, so they should not be treated as independent test results.
The full specification sheet is not available yet. Huawei’s Chinese website currently accepts reservations, while GSMArena reports that the remaining specifications, price and availability details are expected on August 28. The 6.39-inch display size, OLED panel, Kirin 9030s chipset and triple 50MP camera setup are reported claims from an unnamed Weibo tipster, not specifications Huawei has confirmed. Huawei has disclosed 12GB of RAM and storage of up to 1TB in the launch coverage, but pricing and international availability remain open questions.
Why Huawei chose a wide display
Most current smartphones use tall displays, commonly around 19.5:9 or 20:9. That shape helps with one-handed scrolling, messaging and pocket comfort, but it is not especially close to the 16:9 shape used by much of the video content people watch.
The Pura X View takes a different approach. Huawei is promoting the wider canvas for reading, gaming, video and office work. In landscape mode, a strategy game could show more of a map from left to right, while documents and websites may need less horizontal compression. A 16:9 video may also feel more natural when the phone is rotated.
The benefit will depend heavily on software. If apps and games are optimized for the unusual ratio, the extra width could be genuinely useful. If they simply stretch the interface or leave unused areas, the phone may feel different without being more practical. The display shape is therefore an interesting starting point, not a guarantee of a better experience.
Huawei Pura X View vs Huawei Pura X
The Pura X View follows the broad-screen design idea seen in Huawei’s Pura X, but it removes the folding mechanism. The comparison below uses the published Huawei Pura X specifications listed by GSMArena and the officially disclosed Pura X View figures.
The 6.39-inch figure may be misleading
Screen diagonals are easy to compare only when displays have similar shapes. A wider screen can provide more surface area than a taller screen with a larger diagonal, which is why the Pura X View’s reported 6.39-inch figure does not tell the entire story.
Conditional area estimate: For a rectangular display, width can be estimated as
diagonal × width ratio ÷ √(width ratio² + height ratio²), with the same formula used for height. Using the reported 6.39-inch 16:9.5 screen gives an estimated area of about 115.6cm². A 6.7-inch 20:9 display works out to roughly 108.4cm². On this simplified calculation, the wider Pura X View would have about 6.7% more theoretical area despite its smaller diagonal. This uses the unconfirmed 6.39-inch figure; rounded corners, bezels and cutouts reduce usable area, so independent measurement is required.
Huawei also lists 2,160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming for low-brightness scenarios. The company’s footnote says the feature applies in specific conditions, so it should be understood as a display specification rather than proof that every user will experience less eye strain.
Camera and chipset details are not confirmed yet
The official product material shows a horizontal, pill-shaped triple-camera module on the rear, but it does not identify the individual sensors in the information currently available. An unnamed Weibo tipster cited by GSMArena claims that the phone will use three 50MP cameras.
That claim should be treated carefully. Three 50MP sensors could represent a strong main camera, ultrawide and telephoto combination, but megapixel count alone does not reveal sensor size, lens quality, stabilization or image-processing performance. Those details will matter more than the headline number.
The same Weibo report points to a Kirin 9030s chipset and a 6.39-inch display. Huawei has not confirmed either detail in the official material reviewed for this article. The processor, camera sensors, charging support, software version and benchmark performance should be checked against Huawei’s full announcement before publication updates or buying decisions are made.
Price and availability remain important gaps
Huawei has opened a pre-reservation route through its official Chinese online store. However, the price and broader availability are not listed on the official page reviewed for this article. It is also unclear whether the Pura X View will launch outside China or what software and service package an international version would offer.
Status at publication: As of August 23, 2026, at 22:30 Bangladesh Standard Time (UTC+6), Huawei’s official page showed China reservations but did not list a price, charging wattage or global variant. This article should be updated after the expected August 28 specification and pricing announcement.
For buyers outside China, local warranty support, network compatibility, app access, Google-service availability and replacement accessories may be as important as the wide screen and large battery. A phone can look impressive on paper and still be difficult to recommend if it is not officially supported in a user’s market.
What to check after the August 28 update
- Display size and panel type: Confirm whether the reported 6.39-inch OLED specification is accurate.
- Charging support: A 7,000mAh battery will be more useful if charging speed is also competitive.
- Independent brightness testing: Compare real-world brightness with Huawei’s 6,500-nit laboratory claim.
- Camera hardware: Verify the sensor sizes, telephoto lens, optical stabilization and image-processing features.
- Software optimization: Check how popular reading, video, gaming and office apps handle the 16:9.5 display.
- Price and regional availability: China reservations do not guarantee an international launch or local warranty.
