Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8 Reportedly Leads Samsung's 2026 Foldable Production Plans

Samsung is planning a larger initial production run for the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 than for its other upcoming foldable smartphones, according to a report published by South Korean publication ETNews.

ETNews said Samsung's preliminary production plan includes 2.8 million units of the Galaxy Z Fold 8, 2 million units of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and 1.5 million units of the Galaxy Z Flip 8. The figures were later highlighted by 9to5Google.

The publication's estimates place the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 ahead of the Fold 8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip 8 in Samsung's initial foldable manufacturing schedule. Samsung has not publicly commented on the reported figures.

ETNews also said Samsung's overall foldable smartphone production is expected to remain broadly in line with the previous product cycle. Total production is estimated at approximately 5.5 million to 6 million units, compared with production levels reported for the previous foldable generation.

Separate supply-chain reports and leaked images have suggested the Galaxy Z Fold 8 could feature a wider outer display than earlier Galaxy Z Fold models. Samsung has not confirmed the device's design, specifications, or production targets.

Samsung has confirmed it will hold its next Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22. The company is expected to introduce new Galaxy foldable devices during the event, although it has not announced the full product lineup.

As with other supply-chain information, the production figures published by ETNews should be treated as preliminary until Samsung provides official confirmation.
